Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises
FISME is the national federation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Established as NAYE in 1967, it was rechristened as FISME in 1995. Since then it has evolved into a large network of 743 associations (geographic and sectoral) reaching out to over a million MSMEs spread all major states of the country. It is a not-for-profit, politically neutral organization driven by successful entrepreneurs. On the one hand it works in midst of MSMEs at micro level and on the other hand with policy makers at micro and macro level. It has build research and project management competencies through professional secretariat and institutional partnerships. It is Headquartered in New Delhi with Regional Centers in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Its work domains include implementation of MSME support projects in clusters, trade and market access issues, reforms in regulatory and promotional policies & institutions. Apart from this it also does ground events and contact programmes through MSME Summits, Workshops, Seminars, Trade Fairs and Business to Business Meets
Because of its outreach and project execution capabilities across MSME sector, agencies that have entrusted research and project implementation mandates during last three years include: UNCTAD, ILO, EC, DFID, GIZ, Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Asian Productivity Council, ITC (Geneva), Foreign Missions among others. |
